About Ricky Deci13 year old Ricky Deci, a talented young gymnast, was ranked #2 in the nation and had his eyes set on the Olympics. However, during a training session at the Olympic Training Center on Oct. 11, 2001, Ricky's dreams were cut short. Ricky with his contagious smile and zest for life, passed away that tragic October day, but his legacy lives on. Each January, Champion Gymnastics, Ricky's former gym home, invites gymnasts from around the nation to come together to compete at the Ricky Deci Invitational. Now in it's 9th year, this meet funds the Ricky Deci Memorial Foundation. This chritable foundation finances scholarships, training camps, and provides funds for children to attend the UPWARDS sports programs. |
